This Week’s Bible-Reading Update–a note from Jason

Just a couple of quick and helpful notes……. by my count, the Old Testament has 927 chapters.  The New Testament has 260, for a grand total of 1187 chapters in the Bible.

Broken down by week, that’s 18 chapters a week from the Old Testament and 5 chapters a week from the New Testament.  In other words, if you make sure you get your 23 chapters in each weekend before Sunday, not only will you be caught up with the 2011 Bible Reading program, but you’ll be ready for the conversation at Church each Sunday and Wednesday.

This week’s suggested memory verse from the DPCC Bible Reading Program 2011:  Genesis 6:3  Then the LORD said, ‘My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal:  his days will be a hundred and twenty years.’

Ladies Bible Study

A Beth Moore study of Daniel

Join us on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm for our women’s bible study.  This Old Testament Bible study falls in two parts. The first portion, from Daniel chapters 1-6, deals with Daniel’s life as he faced the kind of pressures and temptations Christians encounter today. Daniel models how to develop enduring integrity in an enticing world. The second portion, chapters 7-12, explores thrilling prophecies from the time of Daniel through the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Bible Study

March – May Spring 2012

Draper Park Christian Church continues to offer through our Adult Bible Study (ABS) program exciting courses that are designed to meet the changing and maturing growth of Christians, young and old.  The DPCC curriculum focus is to enrich our understanding of Scripture through traditional core classes based on general age groups.

During the Spring 2012 quarter, A.B.S. will be teaching from the gospel of John.  John, the devoted follower of Christ, has given us a personal and powerful look at Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God.  John’s Gospel is not a life of Christ; it is a powerful argument for the incarnation, a conclusive demonstration that Jesus was, and is, the very heaven-sent Son of God and the only source of eternal life.  As you read his story, commit yourself to believe in and follow him.

Join a class and study through the spring months with great Sunday morning class discussions.
